Type locality: Ceylon [ Sri Lanka]
Distribution. Indian records: Sibsagar ( Hampson 1896b), Nagrishpur, Darjeeling (West Bengal), Cherrapunji (Meghalaya), Sikkim ( Gupta 1994), Ponmudi ( Sondhi et al. 2018), Tripura (West district), Assam, Sikkim ( Mandal et al. 2000), Kerala, North East India (Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Assam, Tripura, Nagaland) ( Sondhi et al. 2018), Tamil Nadu ( Sondhi et al. 2021). Global records: Ceylon, Hong Kong ( Hampson 1896b), widespread throughout the Indo-Australian region as far east as Samoa, in SE Asia from Burma, Thailand, W. Malaysia, Sumatra, Brunei, Sabah, Sarawak, Kalimantan ( Robinson et al. 1994).
