Synonym. Tuponia variegata Wagner 1958 (synonymy by Linnavuori 1986).
Distribution in Iran. Bushehr (Linnavuori 2010), Hormozgan ( Linnavuori 2004b), Kerman ( Wagner 1958 under the junior synonym T. variegata ; Kerzhner & Josifov 1999: holotype from Anbar-Abad), Khuzestan, West Azarbaijan (Linnavuori 2010), Iran (no locality cited) ( Linnavuori 1995a).
General distribution and hosts. Eremian species, extending from Egypt and Israel to Iran and tropical Africa ( Sudan, Eritrea); living on Tamarix sp. ( Linnavuori 1995a, 2004b, 2010).
