Type material. Holotype ♀ ( MHNG), IRAN: Fars Province: Izad Khast , 31°31'N 52°08'E, 12.06.1974 (A. Senglet). GoogleMaps
Etymology. This species is named after Cyrus II of Persia (c. 600–530 BC), commonly known as Cyrus the Great, the founder of the Achaemenid Empire, the first Persian empire; noun in apposition.
Diagnosis. The new species differs from its congeners in the region (i.e. T. gromovi Marusik, 2011 , T. susianus Zamani & Marusik, 2021 and T. Jacksoni Marusik & Guseinov, 2003 ) by the lack of distinct epigynal fovea (Fo) (vs. present in other species), and by the parallel epigynal sclerotization (vs. triangular or absent, cf. Fig. 6B and 6E, H, J View FIGURE 6 ).
Description. Female. Habitus as in Fig. 5F View FIGURE 5 . Total length 2.17. Carapace 0.92 long, 0.61 wide. Eye sizes: AME: 0.06, ALE: 0.05, PLE: 0.04. Carapace, sternum, labium, chelicerae and maxillae yellowish brown. Legs yellowish, without annulations. Abdomen dark grayish. Spinnerets pale, uniform in color. Measurements of legs: Fe I: 0.54, Fe II: 0.53, Pa II: 0.21, III: 1.62 (0.48, 0.22, 0.32, 0.32, 0.28), IV: 2.34 (0.63, 0.27, 0.52, 0.53, 0.39), unlisted segments missing.
Epigyne as in Fig. 6A–C View FIGURE 6 ; plate broad, 2.5 times wider than long, fovea indistinct, hoods and pockets absent; median part with 2 parallel sclerotized structures; vulva consisted of membranous globular bursae (Bu) and round receptacles (Re), bursae separated by diameter of one receptacle, and receptacles separated almost by 3 diameters; copulatory ducts indistinct; fertilization ducts comma shaped.
Male. Unknown.
Distribution. Known only from the type locality in Fars Province, south-central Iran.
