Figs. 1–12 View FIGURES 1 – 12

Description. Male. Body medium-sized; surface finely pubescent, head, pronotum and tegmina nearly glabrous. Head rather small ( Fig. 1 View FIGURES 1 – 12 ), median ocellus medium-sized and not projecting; lateral ocelli rather small and obliquely projecting. Frontal rostrum about half as broad as scapus. Pronotum widened posteriorly, disc flattened, lateral margins angularly bent into paranota. Metanotal gland ( Fig. 2 View FIGURES 1 – 12 ) with 2 shallow grooves fused in middle and covered with short hairs, the anterior groove semicircular, the posterior one nearly triangular. Tegmina ( Fig. 10 View FIGURES 1 – 12 ) with 3 long and 4 short oblique veins; mirror slightly longer than wide (17: 13), lateral field with 16 oblique subcostal veinlets. Fore tibia strongly swollen at tympana; internal tympanum with a slit-like opening on posterior side; external tympanum ovoid and free.

Supra anal plate divided in middle, each side with an obtuse projection and covered with short hairs ( Fig. 11 View FIGURES 1 – 12 ). Subgenital plate funnel-shaped, straight at posterior margin ( Figs. 3, 4 View FIGURES 1 – 12 ). Phallus slender ( Figs. 5, 6, 7 View FIGURES 1 – 12 ). Medial lobes of epiphallus developed and indiscrete, posterior and lateral margins roundly emarginated; lateral lobes of epiphallus hooked, with acute apices. Epiphallic parameres distinctly longer than endophallus, slightly flattened and distinctly narrowed apically, curved inwards at apices, each with a long and acute tooth on ventral side, several small protuberances and fine hairs on ventral and lateral sides. Epiphallus nearly membranous; endophallus membranous.

Coloration. Green when alive. Head with a median longitudinal light yellow stripe which bordered by black stripes behind eyes, a large transverse black marking on occiput; posterior margins of all ocelli brown. Antennae light brown, dark brown on ventral side. Lateral plate of pronotum with a black stripe along anterior part of lateral margin and a small round black marking on posterior part. Tegmen light brown on lateral side, mixed brown with green on posterior part of dorsal side, with dark brown veins.

Female. General characters as in male. Subgenital plate boat-shaped in lateral view, largely and triangularly emarginated in middle of posterior margin ( Figs. 8, 9 View FIGURES 1 – 12 ). Ovipositor elongate, with numerous irregular furrows and tubercle on posterior part of ventral side ( Fig. 12 View FIGURES 1 – 12 ).

Coloration as in male, but tegmen dark brown at anterior part, with green to light brown veins. Ovipositor light brown, dark brown at posterior part, dorsal valves dark brown at ventral margins.

Measurements (mm). Male: body 18.0, length with wings 30.0, pronotum 3.4, tegmen 23.0, hind femur 11.0; female: body 19.0, length with wings 35.0, pronotum 3.5, tegmen 27.0, hind femur 11.5, ovipositor 11.3.

Type material. Holotype ♂, CHINA, Yunnan, Pu’er, Caiyanghe, 26.VIII.2009, coll. Rui-Lian Li ( HBUM). Paratype: 1Ƥ, same data as the holotype ( HBUM).

Diagnosis. This new species is related to T. hibinonis amota , but can be distinguished by the epiphallic parameres longer than endophallus and each present with a long and acute tooth on ventral side. It is also similar to T. versicolor and T. lata , but differs from the latter two in the medial lobes of epiphallus indiscrete and lateral lobes of epiphallus without teeth on lateral sides.

Etymology. The specific name is derived from Latin words “ multi ” (many) + “ protubera ” (protuberance), referring to its epiphallic parameres with several small protuberances on ventral and lateral sides.
