Trouessartia corvinus ( Koch, 1842)
Dermaleichus corvinus Koch, 1842: 18 .
Pterocolus corvinus .— Trouessart 1885c: 74.
Trouessartia corvina .— Canestrini & Kramer 1899: 120; Dubinin 1951b: 27; Radford 1953: 214, 1958: 150; Santana 1976: 40.
Host and locality in Australia: Sturnus vulgaris , Lamprotornis sp. , Sericulus melinus , etc., no details ( Trouessart 1885c).
Current name of host: Common Starling, Sturnus vulgaris Linnaeus, 1758 ( Passeriformes : Sturnidae ); Regent Bowerbird, Sericulus chrysocephalus (Lewin, 1808) ( Passeriformes : Ptilonorhynchidae ).
Notes: The name Trouessartia corvina may have been applied to several different species of mites from different species of hosts, and the true T. corvina occurs only on Corvidae ( Santana 1976) . The published Australian host associations must be considered as questionable.
