Distribution. Chile. Región de O’Higgins: Curicó Province (Los Cipreses). Región del Biobío: Concepción Province (Penco). Región de La Araucanía: Cautín Province (El Manzano), Malleco Province (Curacautín, Lonquimay, Malalcahuello, Termas de Río Blanco, Termas de Tolhuaca). Región de Los Lagos: Valdivia Province (Huichahue, Valdivia) ( Fig. 64 View FIGURE 64 ).

Biology. This species has been observed visiting Taraxacum officinale (L.) Weber ex F. H. Wigg., although some researchers also have observed this fly species visiting E. cordifolia ( Smith-Ramírez et al. 2005, 2016)
