Etymology: polyalthiae, from the generic name of host plant, Polyalthia .

Diagnostic characters: Growth rate on PDA and SNA; on PDA, agar became diffuse dull yellow to brownish and coconut-like odour noted.

Colony radius on CMD after 72 h, 17–20 mm at 15 °C, 30–35 mm at 20 °C, 53–55 mm at 25 °C, 50–53 mm at 30 °C, no growth at 35 °C; mycelium covering the plate after 4 days at 20 °C; colony hyaline, mycelium loose, flat, thin layer of mycelium close to agar surface, not zonate; no distinct odour; agar not pigmented. Conidiophores acremonium- to irregularly verticillium-like; phialides straight to lageniform, 9.0–19.2 × 1.4–2.5 μm, L / W 5.8 –12.1 (n = 30) ; conidia, formed within 3 days in the aerial mycelium, hyaline, smooth, mostly ellipsoidal to globose, 2.0–3.8 × 1.3–2.9 μm, L / W 1.0 –1.6 (n = 30) ; chlamydospores broadly ellipsoidal to ellipsoidal, terminal or intercalary in hyphae, 3.6–7.7 ×1.8–3.1 μm, L / W 1.3 –2.8 (n = 30). Sexual stage not known .

Colony radius on PDA after 72 h, 14–20 mm at 15 °C, 27–31 mm at 20 °C, 48–50 mm at 25 °C, 45–48 mm at 30 °C, no growth at 35 °C; colony hyaline, thin layer of mycelium close to agar surface, not zonate; agar became diffuse dull yellow to brownish, and coconut-like odour noted.

Colony radius on SNA after 72 h, 7–12 mm at 15 °C, 10–17 mm at 20 °C, 20–25 mm at 25 °C, 29–31 mm at 30 °C, no growth at 35 °C; colony hyaline, mycelium loose; not zonate; no distinct odour; agar not pigmented.

Known distribution: Thailand.
