KEY TO THE OLD WORLD SPECIES OF CEROPTERA MACQUART View in CoL

(Trichocypselalongiseta Villeneuve, 1916 ismostprobablyconspecificwith Ceropterellanitidosa (Richards, 1953); Ceropteraghesquierei Vanschuytbroeck, 1951 and C. lacteipennis ( Villeneuve, 1916) were not considered.)

1. Morethan 1 pair (0+2,1+2 pairs) ofdorsocentralsetae. 2

– Only 1 posterior (prescutellar) pairofdorsocentralsetae. 11

2. Scutellumwithseveral (c. 6 pairs) ofadditionaldiscalandlateralscutel- larsetae. 0 + 2(3) dorsocentralpairs, anteriorpairshorter. Also 1 anterodorsal seta in the basal half of mid tibia. Kenya. C. setiscutellata sp. n.

– Only 2 pairsoflongscutellarpairspresent. 3
