Basonym: Microcoleus acutissimus Gardner (1927:55) .
Filaments solitary. Sheath firm, thin, conspicuous, non-lamellate, open at ends, hyaline. Trichomes solitary or numerous (≥15), attenuated, unbranched, slightly constricted, parallel arranged. Cells cylindrical, 2.7–3.65 µm wide, 6.21–8.86 (9.55) µm long, ratio l/w = 2.55. Apical cell acute-conical, without thickening or calyptra. Cell content granulated, pale blue-green, with distinct chromatoplasma. Without necridia.
Habitat: — soil associate to Stigonema minutum and Gloeocapsopsis dvorakii .
