Bionomics. All specimens were collected at light from 620 to 2100 m from late September to October. Unnivoltine; supposedly eggs hibernate. Larva and host plants unknown. This species is noted from Iran for the first time. It can be distinguished from the related T. mirzayani Ebert by: its smaller size; narrower wings; lack of dark sheen in median area of the forewing. The wing covering scales are also different shapes in both taxa. Since no intermediate forms are known, we therefore treat kopetdaghi as a full species, stat. nov.
