Distribution. Coastal Brazil from Bahia and Minas Gerais southwards to Rio Grande do Sul.

Note. I have still not been able to place Trichilia taubertiana Harms with certainty due to the lack of any new collections from the type locality or nearby. It almost certainly belongs in or near T. lepidota , but the bullate leaves set it apart.
