Diagnosis. New species is similar to Thyridosmylus qiannus , however it can be distinguished by the characteristic maculate infuscation of the forewings.
Description. Female. Body length about 11.4mm. Head: Antenna yellow, scape inflated and brown, setae yellow; eyes grayish-brown, ocelli yellowish. Vertex with a brown stripe medially, with round spots on both sides. Setae dark brown. Frons with fuscous spots laterally. Labrum with dark spots medially, maxilla fuscous.
Thorax: Prothorax fulvous, with dark brown setae, verruca spadiceous. Pronotum with five brown spots, arranged into X-shape. Mesonotum dark brown, with brown setae. Metanotum with a testaceous stripe along anterior margin. Scutum ochreous, scutellum triangular. Legs yellow, with brown setae, pretarsus brown.
Wings (Fig 2): Forewings length 20.3 mm, maximum width 6.5mm. Membrane hyaline, with extensive dark brown infuscation around the gradate cross-veins and the posterior area. Pterostigma brown, nygmata dark brown, costal field with few spots. Three hyaline areas distributed around the outer gradate cross-veins. A row of brown speckles sprinkled from the apex up to the middle. Six round brown spots spreading around the base of MP. Venation brown, Rs with 13 branches. Hindwing length 18.9mm, maximum width 5.6mm. Membrane hyaline, and the inner gradate cross-veins edged with brown spots.
Abdomen brown and with yellow hairs.
Female genitalia ( Figs 10–12 View FIGURES 10 – 12 ): Tergum narrow in lateral view. Anal plate broad and roughly pentagonal in lateral view. Callus cerci round. Sternum narrow, narrowed in middle in lateral view. Gonapophysis lateralis finger-like in lateral view; the stylus long and finger-like. Subgenital plate V-shaped in ventral view, with yellow hairs. Spermathecae is formed by two conjoint spheres.
Male. Unknown.
Type material. Holotype female, CHINA: Guangxi: Dayaoshan, 0 6.15.1982, Fasheng Li.
Distribution. China (Guangxi).
Etymology. The specific name refers to three fenestrate spots on the forewings.
