Protologue citation:—“Scalloway; Fitful Head. As a forma nana with very small foliage, summit of Ranas Hill”.
Taxonomic notes:— Thymus zetlandicus is a variant with densely haired leaves of Th. drucei Ronniger (see note on Th. britannicus ).
