Distribution and remarks: Atlantic, Indian and Pacific oceans. It is found in temperate and cold seas, mainly between 30°S and 50°S, to nearly 60°S. Highly migratory species, Annex I of the 1982 UNCLOS. A sole record for Gabon: FB 1670521-2003 must be verified according to the known distribution of the species.
