Diagnosis. Size. Length, male, 2.75–3.32mm; female, 3.15–3.54mm. Width, male, 1.69–2.02mm; female, 1.97–2.14mm. As for T. baranowskii except elytral striae not punctate or impressed. Aedeagus as in Fig. 263 View FIGURES 263–265 .
Geographical distribution. México (Oaxaca).
Natural history. Collected from berlese extraction of oak cloud forest, wet oak forest and mixed montane forest leaf litter at elevations from 2000–2350m.
Derivation of specific name. Named from the Latin globosus, meaning sperical, in reference to the dorsal habitus of the species.
Material examined. 19♂, 17♀♀ ( CMNC, CWOB, ECOS, MZLU) . Holotype ♂ ( CMNC) : MÉXICO: Oaxaca. 30.1 mi. S. W. Valle Nacional , 6600', 24.VI.1983, R. Anderson, wet oak for. litter / HOLOTYPE ♂, Theognete globosa sp. nov., R.S. Anderson. Aedeagus extracted. Paratypes: MÉXICO. Oaxaca. Valle Nacional (32 mi. S.), 7000', 22.V.1971, S. Chorological relationships. Sympatric with T. weiri , T. fossor , T. lalibertei and T. draco .
