Tenthredo vespa inaffectata Muche, 1965
A junior subjective synonym of Tenthredo (Tenthredo) vespa Retzius, 1783 , syn. nov.
TYPE. Tenthredo vespa inaffectata Muche, 1965a: 242 –243. Holotype, Ƥ ( Fig. 22 View FIGURE 22 ). Type locality: “ Mongolia: Central aimak, 12 km SO v. Ulan-Baator; Nucht i. Bogdo ul; 1500m ”. Examined.
DISCUSSION. Taeger (1988a) already stated that the status of the taxon as a subspecies is uncertain. The characters (e.g., length of hairs and malar space, colour of antennae) fall within the range of variability of the widely distributed species, and cannot be associated with a special geographical area. The paratype 3 was not examined, but the differences in the shape of the penis valves noted by Muche (1965a, figs 4 and 5) seem to fall in the range of variability of vespa , too.
