Type material: Holotype: male ( IZCAS), Yinglong Cave [22º08.555'N, 106º42.769'E, ALT: 200m, T: 26°C, H: 96%], Pinxiang, Chongzuo, Guangxi, China, August 9, 2009, C. Wang & Z. Yao leg. Paratypes: 6 males, 28 females, same data as holotype.
Etymology: The specific name is derived from the Greek word “mikro” and “sphaira”, meaning “small” and “sphere”, and refers to the relatively small palpal bulb; term in apposition.
Diagnosis: This new species is similar to T. dongbei Wang & Ran, 1998 , but can be distinguished by the presence of six eyes ( Figs 20 View FIGURE 20 A, 21A), the distinctive small palpal bulb of male ( Figs 20 View FIGURE 20 C–D, 22A–B), the short, spiculated embolus, and the tube-shaped, distal expanded spermatheca ( Figs 21 View FIGURE 21 C–D, 23B–D).
Description: male (holotype). Total length 1.28 ( Fig. 20 View FIGURE 20 A). Prosoma 0.55 long, 0.40 wide. Opisthosoma 0.65 long, 0.53 wide. Sternum 0.36 long, 0.31 wide. Prosoma, sternum, yellow; legs, labium, endites and chelicerae pale yellow. Six eyes. Chelicerae longer than endites, with two teeth and three tiny granulous denticles on the promargin, and four small triangular teeth on the retromargin of fang furrow ( Fig. 22 View FIGURE 22 D). Femur I and II with a pair of short macrosetae ventrally (position 0.8). Patellae I–IV with one long macroseta on the distal part of dorsal surface. Tibia I–IV with one long macroseta dorsally (position 0.3). Leg measurements: I 4.29 (1.35, 0.20, 1.25, 0.87, 0.62); II 3.55 (1.10, 0.20, 1.00, 0.70, 0.55); III 2.34 (0.75, 0.15, 0.62, 0.45, 0.37); IV 3.06 (1.00, 0.20, 0.87, 0.62, 0.37). Leg formula: I-II-IV-III. Opisthosoma dark green, covered with long setae. Bulb pale yellow, small, pear-shaped. Embolus short, spiculate, approximately 1/5 the length of bulb, and angled at approximately 180° to the axis of bulb ( Figs 20 View FIGURE 20 C–D, 22A–B).
Female (one of the paratypes). Similar to male in coloration and general features, but with a smaller body size and shorter legs. Total length 1.25 ( Figs 13 View FIGURE 13 A–B). Prosoma 0.55 long, 0.40 wide. Opisthosoma 0.65 long, 0.53 wide. Sternum 0.35 long, 0.30 wide. Leg measurements: I 4.22 (1.30, 0.20, 1.25, 0.85, 0.62); II 3.47 (1.10, 0.20, 1.00, 0.62, 0.55); III 2.39 (0.75, 0.12, 0.70, 0.45, 0.37); IV 3.07 (1.00, 0.20, 0.90, 0.62, 0.35). Leg formula: I-II-IV-III. Spermatheca evenly tube-shaped, swollen distally ( Figs 21 View FIGURE 21 C–D, 23B–D).
Variation: Total length: males 1.24–1.30 (n = 7), females (1.20–1.30) (n=28).
Distribution: China (Guangxi) ( Fig. 38 View FIGURE 38 ), known only from the type locality.
