10. Stillingia oppositifolia Baillon (1864: 320 View in CoL , nom. nud.) ex Müller Argoviensis (1866: 1160).— Sapium oppositifolium Klotzsch ex Baillon (1858: 513) , nom. nud .. Type:— BRAZIL. “Brasilia Meridionali”: locality unknown, F. Sellow s.n. (holotype B, destroyed; lectotype G 00386171! here designated, isolectotypes G 00386172!, K 000600949!, K 000600950!, K 000600951!, P 00716797!, P 00716798!).
Baillon (1858) first mentioned Stillingia oppositifolia based on a specimen deposited in B and identified by Klotzsch as Sapium oppositifolium . Subsequently, Baillon (1864) referred to this taxon the following collections: “ Sellow, Brésil (herb. Mus., ex herb. Berl.). Gaudichaud, Herb. imp. Brésil., n. 960, Prov. de San-Paolo (herb. Mus.) ”. Müller Argoviensis (1866) was the first to validly describe this species, and he mentioned just Sellow s.n. deposited in B; this is not extant. The duplicate of Sellow s.n. housed in G is herein designated as the lectotype due to its compliance with the protologue and also because this is where Müller Argoviensis worked. Rogers (1951) cited Sellow 4985, but this specimen was not found in any of the herbaria consulted during our research.
