Sternopygus castroi Triques, 1999b: 21 View in CoL , fig. Type locality: Brazil, Amazonas , Igarape Jaradá , Rio Cuieiras, 40 km from mouth of Rio Negro. Holotype: MZUSP 48912 View Materials ; 178 mm SL.
Remarks: Synonymy follows Hulen et al. (2005).
Distribution: Orinoco, Casiquiare, and Negro River basins ( Mago-Leccia, 1994).
