Stegana (Steganina) cucullata Li & Chen View in CoL , sp. nov.

( Figs. 7C, 7D View FIGURE 7 , 33 View FIGURE 33 )

Diagnosis. This species closely resembles S. (S.) eurystoma Wang, Gao, & Chen, 2013 in the shape of male terminalia (as fig. 3 in Wang et al. 2013, Fig. 33 View FIGURE 33 ), but can be distinguished from the latter by having the pregonite blurry or absent ( Fig. 33C, D, J, K View FIGURE 33 ); the aedeagus lacking serrated process near distal margin ( Fig. 33C, D, J, K View FIGURE 33 ); the aedeagal sheath distally slightly strong and dorsad curved ( Fig. 33E, F, L, M View FIGURE 33 ).

Remarks. The type specimens collected from Guangxi and Sichuan slightly differ from those from Chongqing in the surstylus lacking serrated process, with 1 peg-like tooth near distal margin ( Fig. 33B, I View FIGURE 33 ), the cercus lacking pubescence ( Fig. 33A, H View FIGURE 33 ), and the aedeagus with several minute, serrated processes distally and pubescence distoventrally ( Fig. 33C, D, J, K View FIGURE 33 ). They were conservatively identified as conspecific.

Description. Male and female: First flagellomere brown. Clypeus yellow. Mesonotum dark brown, with brownish yellow longitudinal stripes submedially and laterally ( Fig. 7C View FIGURE 7 ). Katepisternum yellowish ( Fig. 7D View FIGURE 7 ). Scutellum dark brown ( Fig. 7C View FIGURE 7 ). Halter mostly grey ( Fig. 7D View FIGURE 7 ). Fore femur with a row of 4 or 5 sturdy setae on distal part of posteroventral surface. Abdominal tergites dark brown ( Fig. 7C, D View FIGURE 7 ); sternites yellow, about 2 times as wide as long. Male terminalia ( Fig. 33 View FIGURE 33 ): Epandrium with ca. 14 setae on dorsal to posterior portions per side ( Fig. 33A, H View FIGURE 33 ). Surstylus with numerous setulae near distal margin ( Fig. 33A, B, H, I View FIGURE 33 ). Hypandrium roundly expanded anteromedially ( Fig. 33C, D, J, K View FIGURE 33 ). Pregonite with 1 or 2 sensilla ( Fig. 33C, J, K View FIGURE 33 ). Aedeagus spoon-shaped, distally broadened ( Fig. 33C, D, J, K View FIGURE 33 ). Subepandrial sclerite slightly vaulted, broadened distally ( Fig. 33G, N View FIGURE 33 ).
