Status at New Ireland. New record, based on a specimen observed at Nusalomon Island, Kavieng District , 1–24 m depth, St. T 1, on 30 Oct. 2006, by Gerald R. Allen.
Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 2.—General distribution: Seychelles and western Mascarenes; Caroline Islands and eastern Australia east to Marshall Islands and Henderson ( Pitcairn Group), north to southern Taiwan, south to Loyalty Islands ( New Caledonia) and Tonga. Found on exposed reef flats and seaward reefs, 0–8 m depth. Marine.
