Positive for glucose fermentation and esculin hydrolysis. D-Glucose, L-arabinose, D-mannose, N -acetyl-glucosamine, D-maltose, and malic acid are utilized. Negative for nitrate reduction, indole production, and arginine dihydrolase, urease, gelatinase, and β -galactosidase activities. Does not utilize D-mannitol, potassium gluconate, capric acid, adipic acid, trisodium citrate, and phenylacetic acid.
