Description of Sphingomonas mucosissima SDN View in CoL 0101
Cells are Gramstainingnegative, nonflagellated, nonpigmented, and rodshaped. Colonies are circular and yellow colored after 3 days on NA at 25°C. Positive for esculin hydrolysis and β galactosidase in API 20NE but negative for nitrate reduction, indole production, arginine dihydrolase, urease, gelatinase and glucose fermentation. DGlucose, Dmannose, Dmaltose, Dmannitol and trisodium citrate are utilized. Does not utilize Larabinose N acetylglucosamine, citrate, malic acid, potassium gluconate, capric acid, adipic acid, malic acid and phenylacetic acid. Strain SDN0101 (= NIBRBA0000114952) has been isolated from a fresh water sample, Taean, Korea.
