Diagnosis. By the body shape and elytral pattern it is extremely similar with other species of this group. Without dissecting male specimens could be rather difficult to distinguish.
Description. Length 5.0– 5.5 mm. Uniformly yellow-brown, one specimen with wide darkish-brown sutural spot behind middle of elytra on 1 – 7 intervals ( Fig. 16 View FIGURES 13 – 18 ).
Head with distinct microsculpture and with coarse and deep irregular punctation. Punctures sometimes confluent. Eyes moderately large and bulging.
Pronotum 1.3–1.35 times as wide as head, 1.46 times as wide as long, widest at the middle. Anterior margin straight, anterior angles effaced, sides regularly rounded, weakly or clearly sinuate before slightly acutely prominent posterior angles. Punctation irregular, on the disc sparser than on the head; denser towards lateral and anterior margins. Lateral margin flat, explanate in basal half. Basal grooves indistinct, flat. Microsculpture irregular, slightly transversely polygonal.
Elytra subovate, 1.47–1.55 times as long as wide, widest in the apical third, with irregular, polygonal microsculpture. Striae deep and weakly punctate. Intervals 1–4 convex at humerus, gradually flattened towards apices; other intervals convex at base and slightly convex at apex.
Claws with 6 teeth. Abdominal sterna shiny, except long marginal setae, with short, tiny, barely visible setae throughout. Propleuron slightly wavy rugose towards coxae, mes- and metepisterna smooth.
Aedeagus ( Fig. 31 View FIGURES 29 – 33 ). Aedeagal median shaft slightly arcuate between basal bulb and elongate apex. Internal sac with large microtrichial patch, composed of small, sclerotized spicules. Name derivation. Comes from Greek language kryptos "hidden", in reference to its similarity to the other species.
Distribution. Cameroun ( Fig. 34).
