Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1

Description. Male. Body small, thin. Fastigium verticis shovel-shaped, protruding forward, base slightly broad, tapering apically, apex rounded, dorsal surface concave ventrally, with a longitudinal sulcus. Compound eyes ovoid, protruding forward. Apical segment of maxillary palpus approximately equated in length with subapical segment, apex swollen and rounded. Pronotum slightly elongate backward, prozona with median carina indistinct, metazona with median carina distinct, anterior margin nearly straight, posterior margin rounded; lateral lobe longer than deep, humeral sinus absent. Thoracic auditory spiracle exposed, oval. Tegmen only reaching apex of postfemur, with apex rounded; hind wing shorter than tegmen. All femora without spines on ventral surfaces. Procoxa with 1 spine; protibia with 3 spines on each side of ventral surface; tibial tympana oval, open on both sides. Mesotibia with 2 spines on each side of ventral surface. Genicular lobe of postfemur with apex rounded; posttibia with 24–26 spines on both sides of dorsal surface, bearing a pair of apical spurs on dorsal and ventral surfaces separately. Posterior margin of male tenth abdominal tergite concave, with a pair of dentate processes. Epiproct triangular. Base of cercus robust, with a lateral ridge on outer margin, and a triangular process on ventral surface; middle area with a triangular process on dorsal surface, and a triangular inner process on ventral surface; apex rounded and slightly incurved. Genitalia with inner and outer layers; inner layer near arc; outer layer seeming a cuboid without top surface, with ventral surface hollow. Subgenital plate nearly oval, with posterior margin truncated. Styli slenderer, positioned on apex of subgenital plate bilaterally.

Coloration. Body green. Antenna brown. Compound eyes brown. Apex of genicular lobe black.

Female. General appearance is similar to that of male. Cercus greatly elongated and clavate, with proximal areas robust, apex acute. Subgenital plate transverse, base with shallow notch, posterior margin slightly concave. Ovipositor moderately upcurved, dorsal and ventral margins smooth, apex of ventral valvula with an indistinct hook.

Measurements (mm). Body: ♁8.5, ♀ 9.0–9.8; pronotum: ♁4.9, ♀ 4.3–4.5; tegmen: ♁9.5, ♀ 10.5–10.9; postfemur: ♁9.0, ♀ 9.3–10.0; ovipositor: ♀ 6.3–6.5.

Distribution. China (Guangxi).

Etymology. The new species is named after the shape of male genitalia, Latin “quadrata” means quadrate.
