Range: — Panama, Colombia, southern Venezuela, and Guianas to Amazonian Brazil and Bolivia (BE, LP).
Ecology: —Fairly common; epiphytic, rarely terrestrial, in humid forests; 200–900(1400) m.
Notes: —Differs from S. fraxinifolium by the rhizome scales, generally larger frond and pinna size, and more rows of areoles and sori between costae and pinna margins.
