Senopterina zonalis Rondani, 1875 View in CoL
ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1875c: 430.
TYPE LOCALITY: “ Insula Bonae Fortunae (Borneo) , Provincia Sarawak [ Bona Fortuna Island, Sarawak Province, Borneo]” ( Rondani 1875c: 421).
TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♀, lectotype ( MSNG): Borneo, Sarawak, 1865/1866, Coll. Doria / Typus / zonalis Rond. / Senopterina zonalis n° 22.
PARALECTOTYPES NOT EXAMINED: 1 ♀ ( MSNG): Borneo Sarawak 1865/1866 Coll. Doria ; 2 ♀♀ ( MZUF: Box 72): Sarawakia zonalis Rnd., Borneo / Borneo, Sarawak, 1865–66, Coll. G. Doria / [no identification number].
CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Plagiostenopterina trivittata (Walker, 1849) ( Steyskal 1977e: 147) View in CoL .
REMARKS: Rondani (1875c: 430) described Senopterina zonalis from just the female sex, without specifying the exact number of specimens, but giving a single measurement of length, despite there being four specimens in the type series found in this study, from material collected by G. Doria and O. Beccari. Guiglia (1957: 196) reported a “ holotype ” (♀) in the MSNG without knowing of an additional three females syntypes, one in the MSNG and two in the MZUF, which brings the original type series to four specimens. In his original description, Rondani did not explicitly refer to a single specimen, therefore Guiglia’s “ holotype ” specimen must be considered as the lectotype (I.C.Z.N. 1999: Article 74.6). The additional three females not examined by Guiglia (two in the MSNG and one in the MZUF) are paralectotypes.
