Remarks: Bruchus subdiversicolor: In the original description, Pic (1931b) does not indicate the number of specimens studied. The labels of the received specimen are identical and consistent with the locality data given in the original description (Brazil). One specimen with Pic’s handwritten labels: "type" and “ subdiversicolor n sp. ", is here designed as the lectotype of Bruchus subdiversicolor .

Bruchus subdiversicolor v. innigripes: In the original description, Pic (1931c) does not indicate the number of specimens studied. Two specimens were received, both with labels identical and consistent with the locality data given in the original description ( Brazil), but only one with Pic’s labels “ v. innigripes / <illegible letters>, designed as lectotype. Here the variety B. subdiversicolor v. innigripes ( NEW SYNONYM) is synonymized with Bruchus subdiversicolor .
