Type :— CHILE. ‘ Habitat ad fretum Magellanicum, Commerfon. Dedit Dn. Thouin’ [ P. Commerson s.n.] (holotype: C 10007878 !; isotypes: P 01816868 !, P 01816869 !, P 01816870 !). Iconography: Freire et al. (2014: 82) .

Distribution and Habitat: — Senecio candidans occurs in sandy areas of coast in South of Argentina, Chile and Peru.
