nov. comb. 1889 Scottia browniana —Brady & Norman: 72 1971 Scottia pseudobrowniana n. sp. —Kempf: 45, figs 1D–H, 2A–H.
Material examined. One male and one female from a small trickle on Daegwanryeong Hill, Gangreung (37°41′27″N, 128°45′38″E) (locality 1 on Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 ), 3 October 2010.
Remarks. Another species of the genus, Scottia birigida Smith et al., 2002 is found in Japan, and the two species can be discriminated by the morphology of the male sexual organ plus other minor features (see Smith et al. 2002). Scottia pseudobrowniana prefers habitats fed by groundwater runoff with a leaf litter substrate, and is found in Europe, Russia, and the United States (see review in Kempf 1971; Külköylüoġlu & Vinyard 2000).
