Colour: Very pale green becoming pale orange with orange blotches (Fig. 850), then transparent grey on maturity.

Shape: Narrow, elongated, ellipsoid, compressed dorsoventrally (Figs 850, 851 & 853).
Characteristics: Egg marked on all surfaces by flat, quadrate cells arranged longitudinally on wider lateral sides, with lengthwise walls relatively broad, elevated, forming prominent lengthwise ribs; transverse walls unelevated, barely discernible (Figs 851, 853–855); cells on anterior pole irregular polygons, concave with moderately broad walls overlain with a very narrow shallow reticulum (Fig. 852). Aeropyles very inconspicuous, slightly elevated, openings very small, distributed on anterior pole only (Fig. 856). Chorion smooth, overlaid with a meshlike reticulum (Figs 854–857).
