Scolia (Discolia) miniata de Saussure, 1859
Distribution in the Arabian Peninsula: Arabia (de Saussure 1859; Betrem 1935), Oman ( Pérez 1907 as Discolia senescens Pérez, 1907 ; Osten 2005a), Saudi Arabia ( Gadallah 2004), United Arab Emirates ( Schmid-Egger 2017).
Extralimital distribution: No records.
Remarks: The holotype of D. senescens Pérez, 1907 is apparently lost ( Betrem 1935), so the status of that taxon is uncertain; Osten (2005b) regarded it as a subspecies of S. miniata or a subspecies of S. lateralis Klug, 1832 , which is Egyptian. We refrain from formally synonymizing S. senescens with S. miniata , but, consider that the most likely solution.
