Locus typicus: USA, Alaska, Glenn Highway. Holotype: Male , 11.viii.1954, leg. O. P. Alexander ( PWMP).

Description. Male. Head. Dark brown. Eye bridge 2–3 facets wide. 4th flagellomere with l/w-index 1.8, haired shorter than wide, whitish. Palpus 3-segmented, short. Thorax. Dark brown; scutum haired fine and whitish. Wings pale; R1 = 2/3 R; c short, = 1/3 w; y shorter x, bare; posterior veins bare. Haltere short, whitish. Legs yellowish-brown; tibial organ small; hind tibia with long but unequal spurs; claws toothless. Abdomen. Brown, haired sparsely and whitish. Hypopygium brown; gonocoxites longer than gonostylus, haired short and sparsely. Gonostylus without apical tooth, curved, concaved on ventral side, winged on dorsal side; with 4 spines, two as pair near the middle of inner side, one above and one below this pair and with a few long apical bristles. Tegmen trapezoid like. Body size: 2 mm.

Comments. The species is similar to Sc. alawae . It differs by 4 spines on gonostylus and shorter flagellomeres. It belongs to the Sc. armata group of the subgenus Xenopygina Frey.
