Type locality: Brazil, Rio de Janeiro, Tinguá.
Holotype ♀ with labels: (1) handwritten on white paper: “Tinguá | R. Janeiro [State of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil] | Brasil ”; (2) printed with handwritten inscriptions on white paper: “Maio 19 40 [v.1940]”; (3) printed with handwritten inscriptions on red paper: “ Geosargus | circumcinctus | ♀ James | HOLOTYPE ”.
Condition of type. Missing parts: hind tarsomeres of both legs.
Additional note: James (1941: 304) indicated that the collector was John Lane, although omitted from the labels.
Paratype ♀ with labels: (1) handwritten on white paper: “ Tinguá | R. Janeiro [State of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil] | Brasil ”; (2) printed on white paper: “Maio 19 40 [v.1940]”; (3) handwritten on white paper: “maio”; (4) printed with handwritten inscriptions on red paper: “ Geosargus | circumcinctus | ♀ James | PARATYPE ”.
Condition of type: good.
