Type material: holotype: ɗ labelled ‘Pachuca, 1700' / Hidalgo, Mex. / 29–VII–1954 / J. G. Chillcott’; ‘ Holotype / Sarcophaga (Bulbostyla) / airosalis / Giroux & Wheeler’ ( CNC).

Description (male): body length 10.0 mm.

Head: 9 pairs of medioclinate frontal setae. Genal setae black, postgena mostly white-haired, black setae restricted to posterior part of postgena.

Thorax: proanepisternum bare.

Wing: dark hairs on lateral margin of alula longer than those on anterior margin of anal lobe. Hairs fringing calypters creamy-white.

Legs: hind tibia with long, wavy posteroventral hairs.

Abdomen: Tergite 5 with orange-yellow margin on apical half or third, row of strong setae forming half circle spreading on apical third.

Terminalia: cerci and syntergosternite 7+8 same color as epandrium. Surstylus without a small posteroventral projection. Window on sternite 5 almost even with rest of base. Pregonite with pointed lateral extension. Vesica and juxta as in Figs. 1–2 View FIGURES 1 – 6 . Juxta in posterior view as in Fig. 3 View FIGURES 1 – 6 .

Female: unknown.

Etymology: The species name is derived from the Spanish “ la bella airosa ” (the beautiful windy one), an alternate name for the type locality because of frequent strong winds in the region.
