Description. Forewings 1.9 times longer than wide, length: male about 3.4 mm, female 3.9–4.2 mm (mean = 4.0, n = 4). Colour stramineous; a large dark and reddish-brown mark in front of antennae; most parts of pro- and mesonotum dark brown; thoracic pleura tinted with red; fore tibiae faintly reddish; basal third of abdomen stramineous, apical two-third dark red, but genitalia stramineous. Forewings glassy, very faintly and uniformly infuscated; veins stramineous. Hindwings colourless; veins in basal half faintly infuscated. In profile junction of vertex and face rounded; face produced in front of antennae; subantennal processes well separated from margins of facial carinae; rostrum surpassing post trochanter. Forewings with Sc+R fork at middle of wing; basal median cell slightly broader than basal cell between Sc+R and M; no triangle at base of Ms1. Male genitalia with pygofer narrow. Genital styles elongated; proximal dorsal process short and slender; distal dorsal process long. Apical part of aedeagus short, ending in a membranous lobe.
Etymology. The species name is a Latin adjective (auctus, -a, -um = increased).

Distribution. Island of New Guinea.
Diagnosis. Saccharodite aucta shows similarities with Sa. nigra sp. nov., also from New Guinea. However, it lacks the very dark marks on head and thorax (especially on the clypeus) and the darkly infuscated forewings of that species.
