Type locality. Manaus-Caracaraí road (BR-17), Km 23, Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil.

Bionomics. Specimens of this species were collected with an entomological net when they approached a human, in tall and shaded forest, between 08:00 and 15:00 ( Cerqueira 1961).

Arbovirus infection records. None.

Occurrence in Brazil. States of Amapá *, Amazonas and Rio Grande do Sul ( Gomes et al. 2010; Hutchings et al. 2010, 2011).
