e. Rubus quartinianus Richard (1847: 257) View in CoL .

Lectotype (designated here):—ABYSSINIA [ ETHIOPIA]. Chiré, 1844, Quartin-Dillon & Petit s.n. ( P00374016 [https://science.mnhn.fr/institution/mnhn/collection/p/item/p00374016])

Syntype:— P02550718 . The name on the label is written by Richard and he also wrote that the specimen was collected by Quartin-Dillon & Petit. It is not certain that it belongs to the same collection as P00374016 . So it could have been selected as a lectotype. Consequently P00374016 is not the holotype. Because it was conserved as the holotype it is here chosen as lectotype in order to keep consistency .

Specimens:— ABYSSINIA [ ETHIOPIA]. Royaume de Choa, Pangolor a moitié hauteur de la Montagne Gouérabéla, 1842, Rochet d’Héricourt 15 (P02550707/8); Rochet d’Héricourt s.n. (P02550721).

Note: —This species has small, very narrow inflorescences, many strong prickles and coarsely serrate leaves. The only correspondence with R. apetalus is the absence of petals.
