Rhysothorax rufa (Fabricius, 1792)

Material examined. ROMANIA: Bechetu [left bank of the Danube River], landing place of ferryboats, 1.vi.1996, several spec. collected in flight in the afternoon, M. Knížek and J. Vávra leg. (3 ♀♀ in DKCP). BULGARIA: Vidin [right bank of the Danube River], 14.vi.1975, V. Hraběta leg. (1 ♂ in DKCP).

Distribution. Distributed from North and Central Europe to European part of Kazakhstan (Ural River basin), introduced to Canada and the USA ( Nikolajev 1987, Stebnicka 1977, 2011). Previously unknown from the Balkan Peninsula. First records from Romania and Bulgaria.
