Rhynchocolletes albicinctus Moure, 1943

Rhynchocolletes albicinctus Moure, 1943 . Holotype ♂ at DZUP, not examined. Type locality: Brazil, Rio de Janeiro, Itatiaia. Colletes langeana Moure, 1956 . Holotype ♀ at DZUP, not examined. Type locality: Brazil, Paraná, Curitiba. Synonym proposed by Moure et al. (2007).

Collectes albicinctus ; Michener, 1989.

Diagnosis. #/♂—Labrum black, punctate and without longitudinal sulci; clypeus without mid-longitudinal depression; hypostomal carina ordinary; mid-posterior region of mesoscutum with small smooth, impunctate area; ventral region of mesepisternum, near ventral end of episternal groove, ordinary, lacking a distinctive swollen area delimited by short and dense pilosity; marginal zone of T1 flat.

♀—Malar area 1.5 times as long as interocellar distance; clypeus coarsely rugose; F1 slightly longer than its apical width; gena, behind the upper eye margin, flat, not carinate posteriorly; anterolateral angle of pronotum triangular, shorter than its basal width; pilosity on mesoscutum completely black; pilosity on mesepisternum, ventrally, sparse; fore coxa without spine; inner spur of hind tibia serrate; punctation on T1 dense and moderately coarse.

♂—Malar area 1.8 times as long as interocellar distance; clypeus with rugae; F1 slightly longer than its apical width; gena, behind the upper eye margin, concave but not carinate posteriorly; anterolateral angle of pronotum triangular, shorter than its basal width; pilosity of mesoscutum composed of a mixtures of black and white hairs; pilosity on mesepisternum, ventrally, sparse; fore coxa without spine; inner spur of hind tibia serrate; punctation on T1 moderately coarse and homogeneously dense.

Examined material. Two specimens (1♀ and 1♂) from the following localities (see Fig. 11 View FIGURE 11 ) —Poços de Caldas, ??/11/1961, [C.Elias], 1♂, { DZUP}. Catas Altas, Serra do Caraça, ??/11/1961, [Kloss, Lenko, Martins & Silva], 1♀, { DZUP}.

Geographic distribution. BRAZIL (Bahia, Espírito Santo, Minas Gerais [see Fig. 11 View FIGURE 11 ], Paraná, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo).

Comments. Rhynchocolletes albicinctus presents several autapomorphies (e.g., punctate labrum and malar area very elongated) that are also found in R. langeanus, and which support the synonymization of these species by Moure et al. (2007).

Among hundreds of Colletinae specimens examined, only two individuals of R. albicinctus were available for our study, suggesting that this could be a rare species, at least in Minas Gerais.
