Raveniola spirula View in CoL sp. n. Figs 15, 16
Type material.
Holotype ♂ - CHINA: Hubei Province, Shennongjia Forest Region, Mt. Guanmenshan [31°25.483'N, 110°21.565'E, elevation 1601 m], July 23-30, 1998, H. Zhou (IZCAS). Paratypes: 22♂ (IZCAS), same data as holotype.
Etymology.
The specific name is taken from the Latin noun “spirula” (the diminutive form of "spira = spiral"), which means "small spiral" and refers to the spiral embolus.
Diagnosis.
The new species is similar to Raveniola yunnanensis but can be distinguished by a noticeably longer and less spinose cymbium, by its more twisted, corkscrew-shaped distal portion of the embolus (see Fig. 16 A–C and Zonstein and Marusik 2012: figs 35, 43) and by the absence of PMS (present in the latter species).
