scientific name

Rajania cordata var. retusa Knuth (1917: 219)
status

1. Rajania cordata var. retusa Knuth (1917: 219) . Type:—UNKNOWN. “Vaterland Unbekkant” (holotype B n.v.)

Notes: It’s not clear what this name refers to. The lack of collection data (“fatherland unknown”) makes the specimen difficult to locate, although most likely it is still at B, perhaps filed in the general collection. Knuth (1917, 1924) provided only scant details: no other specimens are cited, and without a locality, the description: “leaf-blade triangularoblong, base +/- retuse, moderately firm, fruit 13 mm. long,” is too generic to determine if the specimen is in fact D. cordata or a different species.
