Smetana, 1988: 288 ( Quedius ; subgenus Raphirus ; Type locality: Nepal, Khandbari Distr., Induwa Khola Valley, 2000 m); Herman, 2001: 3179 (world catalog); Smetana, 2004: 666 (catalog for Palaearctic region).

Material examined. CHINA: Yunnan Province: 1 ♂, Dayao County, Sanhexiang, 2010 m, 29. V. 2012, coll. Ye Liu.

Measurements. BL = 12.0 mm, BW = 2.3 mm, HL/PL/EL = 1.00: 1.21: 1.62, HW/PW/EW/AW = 1.00: 1.16: 1.42: 1.29, HW/HL = 1.12, HEL/HTL = 3.68, PW/PL = 1.07, EW/EL = 0.98, ESL/EL = 0.54.

Remarks. This species is recorded from China for the first time.

Distribution. The present specimen of Quedius kuiro Smetana was collected from mountain areas in central Yunnan at an altitude of 2010 m. So far it was only reported from mountain areas in eastern Nepal at similar altitude.
