Female: (n=9) Body spindleshaped, 175 long, shield 54 long, 69 wide, shield lobe present, shield rectangular in shape, smooth; scapular tubercles and setae absent. Leg: leg segments normal, Leg I 45 long, femur 9 long, femoral seta (bv) 9 long, genu 3 long, genual seta l ´´21 long, fore tibia 5 long, tibial seta (1´) set at half, 7 long, tarsus 5 long, lateral seta (ft ´´) 21 long, dorsal seta (ft ´) 5 long, solenidion 5 long, ending as knob, empodium simple, 5 rayed, 5 long. Leg II 37 long, femur 8 long, femoral seta 10 long, genu 4 long, genual setae absent, tibia 3 long, tarsus 5 long, lateral seta 16 long, dorsal seta 3 long, hind solenidion 7 long, empodium 5rayed, 7 long; fore coxal area with granules; 1st coxal setae (1b) 5 long, Ct1Ct1 14 apart, 2nd coxal setae (1a) 10 long, Ct2Ct2 12 apart, 3rd coxal setae (2a) 12 long, Ct3Ct3 30 apart, Ct1\Ct2 15, Ct1Ct2 8, Ct2\Ct3 21, Ct2Ct3 9.
Opisthosoma: dorsum with median furrow, dorsum with about 28 annuli, first 3 dorsal annuli 17 long, ventrally with about 58 microtuberculate annuli; lateral setae (c2) 18 long, LtLt 66 apart, Lt\Vt1 51, LtVt1 28; 1st ventral setae (d) 16 long, 2nd ventral setae (e) absent; 3rd ventral setae (f) 18 long, Vt3Vt3 21 apart; accessory setae (h1) absent, caudal seta (h2) 27 long.
Epigynium: 31 wide, 18 long, basally with granules, distally with about 14 longitudinal ridges, genital setae (3a) 6 long, GtGt 19 apart.
Male: (n=2) Body 146 long, shield 46 long, 55 wide; genitalia 17 wide, 4 long, genital setae 5 long, GtGt 12 apart.
Type data: Holotype, female, NANTOU: Renai Township; 6Oct.1994, C. F. Wang; ex. Stauntonia hexaphylla (Thunb.) Decne. (Lardizabalaceae) . (deposited at NMNS). Paratypes, 8 females, 2 males, data same as for holotype.
Relation to host: A vagrant on the lower leaf surface. No apparent damage was observed.
Etymology: This new name means “smooth” in reference to the smooth shield.
