Type specimen information. Syntypes, male and females; "Caucasus, trajectus Chide, trajectus Utür" (not examined). Note: the material has been collected by the V.A. Shturovsky's Greater Caucasus expedition in August 1903 during establishing touristic tracks (own data collection, see e.g., http://uni-persona.srcc.msu.su/site/research/ zajonchk/ tom4_ 1/V 4P10400.htm). The expedition followed the Malka River valley passing in the region of Elbrus summit and crossing the main ridge passes "Kyrtyk", "Donguz-orun", "Utyur" and "Klukhor". Thus, we suppose the specimens were collected in this region, possibly North or North-east of the Elbrus summit (presently within the Kabardino-Balkaria Republic). Additional specimens are reported by Ramme (1951) and present in the MfN collection (see below).
Material examined. 1M, Richva [a mountain range (Arichva or Anchkho) west of Ritsa Lake in Abkhazia; possible place near N 43°29', E 40°41'], prov. Mar. Nigri, 30.8.1912, Mus. Caucas., no: 50-12, Museum Tiflis (Tausch) ( MfN); 1F, Jugum, Sancara, 9500’ [possibly Sanchara Ridge, 2850 m, near N 43°27', E 40°55'], 30.08.13, Mus. Caucas., no: 97-13, Museum Tiflis (Tausch) (leg. K.A Satunin) ( MfN).
Remarks. Geometric morphometry and song data of this species was not available for this study. Present data of qualitative morphology was obtained from material in the Museum für Naturkunde, Berlin. According to qualitative morphology it is similar to P. specularis though male cercus resembles that of P. da v i s i and P. rize . However, its species uniqueness is obvious both by its cerci and male anal tergite.
Distribution. This species is known from high altitudes in the Western Greater Caucasus in Abkhazia and (possibly) also Kabardino-Balkaria Republic of Russia.
