Pseudocosmetura wanglangensis View in CoL sp. nov. ( Figs. 1–2 View FIGURE 1 View FIGURE 2 )

Description (male, except where specified).

General. Body small, male brachypterous, female squamipterous. Appearance of female slightly larger than male.

Head. Short and stout; fastigium verticis conical, blunt apically, with a longitudinal sulcus on dorsal surface. Eyes globular, weakly protruding forwards. Apical segment of maxillary palpus slightly longer than subapical one, apex slightly swollen.

Thorax. Pronotum comparatively short, reaching posterior margin of first abdominal tergite; disk of pronotum flat, anterior margin straight, posterior margin broadly rounded; lateral lobes longer than deep, posterior area slightly broadened, narrowing; humeral sinus absent. Female pronotum short, lateral lobes tapering.

Legs. All femora without spines on ventral surface; procoxa with a spine, protibia with 4 spines on inner and outer margins of ventral surface separately; tibial tympana open on both sides, long-oval. Postfemur with 16–18 spines on inner and outer margins of dorsal surface separately, and a pair of dorsal and ventral apical spurs separately; some specimens with a pair of ventral apical spurs and a pair of small and shorter apical spurs on middle area.

Wings. Male tegmina short, apices rounded, reaching posterior margin of second abdominal tergite. Hind wings absent. Female tegmina squamipterous, apices reaching middle area of first abdominal tergite.

Abdomen. Tenth abdominal tergite comparatively broad, posterior margin with a notch, epiproct distinct, lightly larger, tongue-shaped, fused with tenth abdominal tergite, posterior margin rounded. Cerci with basal half stout; apical half thin, distinctly upcurved, apices acute; the middle concave longitudinally. Subgenital plate longer, trapezoid, tapering, basal area slightly broad, posterior margin straight, but some individuals with posterior margin slightly protruding, rounded; styli short and robust on ventral surface of lateral apices of posterior margin. Genitalia moderately sclerotized.

Female cerci conical, apices pointing. Ovipositor moderately upcurved, dorsal and ventral margins smooth; apices of dorsal and ventral valvulae acute. Subgenital plate rectangle, posterior margin shallowly concave.

Coloration. Body green. Eyes yellowish brown. Disc of head with a pair of yellow spots after eyes. Disc of pronotum with a longitudinal light brown stripe, the lateral edges brown; in some individuals, the longitudinal stripe brown; with a pair of longitudinal yellow stripes on the outer margins. Spines on dorsal surface of posttibia brown, apex of claw brown.

Material examined. Holotype: male, Baozigou , Wanglang, Pingwu County, Sichuan Province, China, 8 August 2017, collected by Fu-Ming Shi . Paratypes: 3 males and 5 females, Muyangchang , Wanglang, Pingwu, Sichuan, China, 8–11 August 2017, collected by Fu-Ming Shi .

Measurements (mm). Body (apex of fastigium verticis to posterior margin of tenth abdominal tergite): male 7.3– 8.6, female 8.1–10.4; pronotum: male 3.5–4.1, female 3.2–3.3; postfemora: male 6.7–8.0, female7.7–8.1; ovipositor (base of subgenital plate to apex of ovipositor): 5.8–6.0.

Discussion. The new species is different from the known species of Pseudocosmetura in the structure of the male cercus, epiproct and female subgenital plate.

Etymology. Named after the type locality of the new species, Wanglang National Nature Reserve in Sichuan Province, China.
