Material.— 25 specimens, most of which are poorly preserved.

Remarks.—This form is characterized by small size, surface with rugae and growth lines. Spines are only present on the ventral valve. Both ventral and dorsal interareas are slit−like. These specimens have a more transverse outline and more numerous spines on the ventral valve than Productella shetienchiaoensis Tien, 1938 . Tien’s species is much smaller than P. sp. 1, with a width around 6.5 mm (not “natural size” as in Tien’s plate explanation).

Occurrence.—In the Shetianqiao section occurring at several horizons; late Frasnian.
