( Figs 20–22 View FIGURES 20 – 23 )
Etymology. From the Latin flammatus , meaning on fire; in reference to the mostly bright orange metasoma and legs.
Description. Medium size; fore wing length 0.91 cm.
Head. Mandible 1.94 as long as basal width; clypeus 1.88 as wide as high, scarcely punctate; supraclypeal area entirely densely punctate, densely pilose; antenna with 32 flagellomeres, white band starting at flagellomere 4, reaching flagellomere 12; flagellum transversal section somewhat triangular; subapical flagellomeres much wider than basal flagellomeres; supra-antennal area ventrally slightly concave, sparsely pilose, smooth, medially with longitudinal sulcus; gena and vertex behind ocelli polished, sparsely pilose; occipital carina weak, dorsally absent, reaching hypostomal carina far from mandible base; malar space 0.94 as long as basal width of mandible.
Mesosoma . Sparsely pilose, in dorsal view 1.68 as long as wide, in lateral view middle width 0.32 cm; pronotum posteriorly scarcely punctate, densely pilose; collar polished; pronotal sulcus laterally corrugated; Scutoscutellar groove weakly corrugated; scutellum 1.02 as long as wide, scarcely punctate; hind margin of metanotum without teeth; mesopleuron dorsally smooth, ventrally scarcely punctate; mesopleural groove minutely corrugated; epicnemial carina strong, dorsally slightly curved forwards; dorsal end of epicnemial carina reaching only 0.3 of posterior margin of pronotum; sternaulus absent at posterior 0.5, strongly corrugated; mesopleural fovea moderately deep, forming pit with sulcus; mesothoracic venter punctate; median portion of posterior transverse carina of mesothoracic venter absent; transverse furrow at base of propodeum laterally about 0.15 as long as anterior portion of propodeum, uniformly corrugated, deep and narrow; propodeum 0.99 as long as wide medially; anterior margin of propodeum without teeth; anterior portion of propodeum sparsely punctate; posterior portion of propodeum entirely confused–rugulose, posteriorly with two divergent longitudinal carinae; anterior transverse carina of propodeum complete, strong; propodeal spiracle 0.64 as wide as long; pleural carina of propodeum absent; lower division of metapleuron punctate, sparsely pilose; juxtacoxal carina short and weak.
Wings. Fore wing: vein 2+3Rs almost straight; vein 1M+Rs entirely slightly sinuous; vein 1cu-a straight, angle with vein M+Cu about 90°; vein 2-Cu 0.29 as long as vein 2cu-a; vein 4Rs 0.79 as long as vein 4-M, sinuous; cell 1+2Rs 0.65 as high as pterostigma, pentagonal; vein 2-M 1.00 as long as vein 3-M. Hind wing: vein 1-Cu 1.13 as long as vein cu-a; vein 2-1A reaching 0.43 of distance to posterior margin.
Metasoma. T1 0.48 as long as hind femur, polished; spiracle at anterior 0.74, not prominent in dorsal view; postpetiole dorsoanteriorly convex; T2–8 polished, sparsely pilose; T2 0.84 as long as wide at apex; apex of T2 1.7 as wide as base; ovipositor sheath 0.22 as long as hind tibia; dorsal valve with 10 teeth; ventral valve with 12 widely spaced teeth.
Color. Head and mesosoma black and yellow, metasoma orange. Head: mostly yellow; mandible apex, supraclypeal area lateromedially, supra-antennal area medially and occiput, black; antenna dark brown, flagellum dorsally whitish at f6–12. Mesosoma : black with the following yellow marks: collar and dorsolateral spot at pronotum, two longitudinal short stripes at mesoscutum, scutellum, tegula, subalar ridge, most of mesopleuron centrally, upper division of metapleuron laterally, circular spot dorsoposteriorly at lower division of metapleuron, and two small median lateral marks at posterior portion propodeum. Legs: mostly yellow (242,231,125); fore coxa and mid coxa dorsally, whitish; fore and mid femora dorsally brownish; hind coxa, trochanters and femur, orange; hind femur ventrally and at apical 0.3, brownish; all t3–5 dorsally brownish. Metasoma: mostly orange; T1 yellow, dorsally to spiracles, black; T2 laterally with transverse light yellow mark at posterior 0.1. Ovipositor sheath orange (178,064,013).
Comments. This species has the most distinctive color pattern among the species of the genus, and is easily recognizable by the metasoma and legs mostly orange, bearing only dorsal brownish marks, and the posterior portion of propodeum with two median lateral yellow spots.
Variation. Antenna sometimes with 35 flagellomeres; flagellum dorsally partially whitish at t5, dorsally entirely whitish from t5–12; dorsolateral spot at pronotum sometimes extending along 0.7 of dorsal margin, sometimes medially restricted to 0.3 of dorsal margin; fore and mid femora sometimes without a distinct dorsal brown stripe, only darker dorsally; hind t4–5 sometimes entirely blackish, sometimes only base and apex of t5 blackish; yellow marks at posterior portion of propodeum sometimes weak; T2 sometimes without apical transverse pale yellow marks; apical 0.8 of ovipositor sheath sometimes dark brown, sometimes light orange.
Male. Unknown.
