Diagnosis. This new Porricondyla has a platelike gonostylar tooth, a condition classifying it in species group C ( Jaschhof & Jaschhof 2013: 233 ff.). A peculiarity of P. ottenbyensis is the bifurcate apices of the parameres ( Fig. 41 View FIGURES 40–43 , ↓ 1). Porricondyla bifurcata Mamaev is only faintly similar in having the right paramere deeply split into two branches while the left paramere is entire ( Mamaev & Zaitzev 1996: fig. 1). All other Porricondyla have entire, single-pointed parameres. Females and larvae of P. ottenbyensis are unknown.

Other male characters. Body size 1.9 mm. Head. Eye bridge 7–8 ommatidia long at vertex. Antenna with only 11 flagellomeres retained, all with circumfila. Scape and pedicel concolorous with flagellum. Neck of fourth flagellomere 1.8 times as long as node ( Fig. 40 View FIGURES 40–43 ). Palpus 1.6 times as long as head height, 4 setose, subcylindrical segments, apical segment longest of all. Thorax. Presutural windows distinct. Pronotal setae 7; anepisternal setae 3; anepimeral setae 3. Wing longer than body. Length / width ratio 2.7. M 1+2 absent. Hind fork nearly complete. Legs. Femur and tibia of foreleg equally long. Tarsi and acropods missing. Genitalia ( Fig. 41 View FIGURES 40–43 ). Gonocoxal synsclerite: most of ventral surface setose, although sparser medially; narrowed ventrobasal portion moderately long; ventral emargination U-shaped, slightly reinforced basally; processes broad, largely membranous, only basolaterally reinforced; ventrobasal edge straight; dorsal apodemes moderately long, ending close to ventrobasal edge. Gonostylus elongate in a ventral view, 3 times as long as broad, broadest subbasally, then evenly tapered towards apex; 3–4 inconspicuous, long bristles mediosubapically. Parameral apices oriented laterally. Aedeagal apodeme about as long as gonocoxae, both base and apex unmodified. Posterior ends of accessory gland ducts well discernible.

Etymology. The species epithet refers to Ottenby Nature Reserve, located at the southern tip of the island of Öland, southeast Sweden. The type locality, Södra lunden, is a large, varied woodland with intermittent haymeadows, which is grazed by both cattle and fallow deer, the latter introduced long ago as royal game.

Type material. Holotype. Male , Sweden, Öland , Mörbylånga , Ottenby Nature Reserve , Södra lunden (near military radar station), grazed mixed broadleaf forest predominated by oak and birch, 20 August–17 September 2004, Malaise trap, Swedish Malaise Trap Project (trap 21, collecting event 995) (spn. CEC 2297 in NHRS).
