Range: —Andes from Venezuela to Bolivia ( CH, CO, LP, SC).
Ecology: —Very common; terrestrial, saxicolous, and less commonly epiphytic in humid montane habitats, including shrubby vegetation, forests, and rocky slopes; 1900–3800 m.
Notes: —This belongs to a taxonomically difficult species complex, also including P. appressa , P. tweedieana , P. pycnocarpa , and P. subvestita . Many species in this group occasionally have specimens with pinnatisect pinnae.
